Granstville Cemetery
Granstville dates to the Civil War one year before Nevada joined the Union. Silver was discovered here in
1863. In only 6 years the silver had almost played out and the town was declining rapidly. In 1877 a twenty stamp mill was built
and the town boomed to a population of 800 people. This lasted another 8 years before mining again declined and the town ended
in 1885. The site of Grantsville is approximately 135 miles North by Northeast from Beatty in the County of Nye.
